If you've received a message that your account has been muted, you will not be able to chat normally in RuneScape or post on our official forums until the mute has expired.
Mutes can be avoided by following the RuneScape rules and terms and conditions and are are associated to the Jagex account so will be active in all products for that account.
You will still be able to view and read our forums, and play the game and RuneScape users will have the option to use quick chat. This option is not available in Old School RuneScape at this time.
Most mutes can be appealed if you are a member, by submitting an appeal from the Account Status section of the Account Management page.
