Chatting in RuneScape is a major part of the game; whether it’s to interact with the community, conduct trades or simply keep in touch with your friends. You can chat to those around you by typing into the chat box or by using the Quick Chat feature.
Quick Chat allows you to message other players using a selection of pre-defined words and phrases, rather than typing your own text into the chat box (Think ‘Autocorrect’, but without the typos)!
How can I use Quick Chat?
You can access Quick Chat by simply pressing the 'Enter' button on a new line in the chat window, or clicking the Quick Chat icon next to your name at the bottom of the chat window.
What does the autopopulated list of terms do?
Once you have selected Quick Chat, you will see that your chat window changes to show a selection of chat categories, which open out into a variety of options. You can click on these headings to open subsections to help you construct sentences.
Can I make Quick Chat even quicker?
Yes! Use the search option within the Quick Chat menu to find the perfect phrase. Open the Quick Chat menu, click 'Search', or press Enter, and start typing. If the words that you type appear in any of the Quick Chat phrases, you will be presented with the phrases that most closely match what you would like to say.
How do I turn Quick Chat off?
If you want stop using Quick Chat, pressing Esc on your keyboard will disable the function and return you to the public chat channel.
