There are 3 types of Moderators that you may meet along your adventures JMods, PMods and FMods. You may also encounter our Community Helpers. You can find out more below.
JMod
Short for
Jagex Moderator.
Status
JMods are employed staff members and work from our office.
Identified by
Gold crown next to their name and a gold outline on forum posts.
Many of our JMods also have their very own Mod Twitter account, where they talk about anything from what they had for breakfast to the very latest game updates!
PMod
Short for
Player Moderator.
Status
Friendly and community minded volunteers selected to be part of the PMod team.
Identified by
Silver crown next to their name when they talk in game.
Tools
Can temporarily mute other players, Jagex then reviews the incident.
Can access
Private forums where they can discuss moderation and community issues with PMods and JMods.
Level up
May be invited to become a PMod Mentor and support newly invited PMods by answering questions and clarifying the PMod guidelines.
PMods help Jagex by protecting the community from troublesome players. PMods work hard to create a safe, fun and welcoming gaming environment. They do so out of their passion for the community. Therefore Jagex operates a zero tolerance approach towards any abuse directed towards our volunteer moderators (and any player for that matter), and will take swift action towards anyone who purposefully disrupts or harasses our volunteer moderators.
FMod

Forum Moderator.
Status
Friendly and community minded forum volunteers selected to be part of the FMod team.
Identified by

Security reminder
No Mods or Helpers will ever contact you out of the blue via email or other sites to request information from you or make offers (such as PMod status), and you should never give out information such as your password - even to Mods.
Jagex will only ever contact you through your In-Game Message Centre, and will never ask for your password.
