I want to delete my account

We do not delete accounts from our system, as we retain every one for our reference. Alternatively we do have an option to disable accounts, which means they can no longer be accessed.

As we find many players generally wish to disable their account in the heat of the moment, we would always recommend that you just stop logging in or change the account password. However if you would require more than this, then disabling is the way to go.

The process to disable an account may seem a little excessive, yet these steps are taken for security reasons. We would also never want to disable someone's account incorrectly, so please understand our precautionary approach.

Please be aware that disabling an account will not automatically release the account name or login email from the account.

How do I disable my account?

There are two different processes depending on your age.

If you are under 18 years old:

Your parent or legal guardian must supply an affidavit which confirms they are the parent of the original account owner, along with either a copy of their passport or drivers licence (we need this to prove that they are the parent/legal guardian).

The affidavit must specifically state the following:

  • That you are the custodial parent.
  • Your email address.
  • Confirmation that your child is under the age of 18.
  • The correct spelling of your child's RuneScape name.
  • That you would like this account to be disabled.

If you are over 18 years old:

You must supply an affidavit to verify that you are the owner of the account, along with a copy of either your passport or drivers licence.

The affidavit must specifically state the following:

  • That you are the original owner.
  • Your email address.
  • Confirmation that you are over the age of 18.
  • The correct spelling of your RuneScape name.
  • That you would like this account to be disabled.

The affidavit has to be signed by and in the presence of a notary public, who is someone who is qualified and has the legal authority to administer oaths.

Please also be aware that disabling the account will only restrict access to the account. 

Once we have verified the ID and are satisfied that the request is genuine we will permanently ban the account and invalidate the latest password, recovery answers and recovery email. If the account has a recurring subscription the payments will be stopped automatically. No refunds will be issued for any unused membership period at the time that the account is banned. 

Once we have completed the account suspension as outlined above we will destroy any ID or documents provided to us by means of a commercial confidential waste disposal service. 

We do not charge for the processing of account delete / suspension.
