Check the progress of your cache
Game versions:
If your cache is not loaded fully it can reduce performance and cause lag, especially if you change areas suddenly, such as teleporting or going into an instanced area.
Cache can load whilst you're playing but it will cause a noticeable performance drop and will stop or slow down downloading if the client detects a significantly low FPS.
Check the progress of your cache to find out if this is what's causing your issue:
1 |
Open the client |
|
2 |
Use the key combination Alt and ` to open the Developer Console overlay. (If this doesn't work, make sure your keyboard language is set to English, UK.)
|
|
3 |
Enter the command 'displayfps' in the overlay. Close Developer Console by hitting Alt and `
|
|
4 |
This opens a separate overlay showing your FPS and disk cache progress.
|
|
5 |
You can remove the overlay by typing 'displayfps' into the console again. |
|
6 |
Your Disk Cache should be around 4 - 5GB when complete.

Your Disk Cache should be around 8 - 9GB when complete. If your cache is much lower than 8GB the text will likely be red or orange. |
You can still play whilst the cache is loading but you may experience some performance issues.
