How to clear your cache
Game Versions:
RuneScape stores some files locally on your device. Sometimes one or more of these files can become corrupted and cause problems starting the game, clearing your cache will force these files to redownload.

Close the client |

Select 'Options' in the lower left of the client screen whilst it's loading |

To find where your cache files are saved see 'Cache folder' |

Go to this directory and delete the whole folder |

Reload the client and log in Below the lobby, you'll see a progress bar showing the cache begin to build. Wait for this to reach 100% before playing |
You can also enter the command 'deletejs5caches' into the Developer Console and restart the game to clear your cache.
Clear your RuneScape cache (Steam)

Close the client |

Right-click RuneScape in your game library on Steam |

Click 'Properties' |

Click the 'Local Files' tab |

Click the 'Local Files' tab. This will open a new Windows File Explorer window |

Delete the 'RuneScape' folder |

Reload the client and log in Below the lobby, you'll see a progress bar showing the cache begin to build. Wait for this to reach 100% before playing |
Clear your Old School RuneScape cache

Close the client |

Click Start, search and copy this directory into the search bar: %USERPROFILE%\jagexcache\oldschool |

Delete the 'Live' folder |
Clear your Old School RuneScape cache (Steam)

Close the client |

Click Start, search and copy this directory into the search bar: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Jagex\Old School RuneScape

Delete the 'Data' folder |

Close the client |

Open spotlight search |

Enter: /Users/*insert your Mac username here*/Jagex |

Open the 'Jagex' folder |

Delete the 'RuneScape' folder |
Clear your Old School RuneScape cache

Close the client |
2 |
Use spotlight to locate any folders named 'jagexcache' |

In this folder, open the folder named 'OldSchool' |
4 |
Delete the 'Live' folder |
NOTE: Your cache will automatically re-download after following these steps. During this time you may notice a slight decrease in performance.
