Where has my character name gone?
Character names are automatically removed if an account is inactive for a long period of time, which also removes your name from HiScores.
Once you are logged into game you will be asked to choose a new name, so get creative and think of something cool.
If you use a login name to access your account this will not be changed.
If you have received an email from Jagex addressed to 'Name unavailable' it means that your account does not currently have a Character name set. Don't panic, you can set one next time you log in.
- If you've been playing recently but have found your name is no longer on your account, please be aware that inappropriate names are removed.
- If your account has been compromised and a third party has changed your character name, we are unable to restore the name but please make sure your account is secure so it doesn't happen again.
