How to report a player

The best way to handle players that you find irritable, rude or that you just don't get on with is to add them to your Ignore List or adjust your chat settings so you're no longer bothered by them.

On rare occasions, when a player's behaviour has escalated or persisted beyond simple trolling, you have the reporting tool at your disposal.

What does the reporting tool do?

The reporting tool sends a snapshot of in-game chat to the Jagex Customer Support team. They will then look over the report and take any further action necessary

How do I submit a report?

To submit an abuse report simply

1. Click on the Report a Player button towards the right-hand corner of the All Chat interface.

2. Click on 'report a player'.

3. Select the relevant chat or player you wish to report from a list of recent chat. Their name will then appear in the bottom area. Player moderators will have the additional option to click a 'mute this player for 48 hours' box if they no longer wish other players to see their chat. Press 'next' when you're sure you've picked the correct player.

You can also report a player by right clicking them and choosing 'Examine' and then using the report flag in the top-left corner of the resulting interface.

How can I let the JMods know why I am submitting a report?

After choosing to report a player through either of these methods, you will be shown a screen where you can decide which rule you are reporting the player for. Select the offence that correlates with that committed by the player and your report will be submitted.

The final part of the interface, is the option to ignore the until you log out.

What if the player is breaking multiple rules at the time?

You only need to submit one abuse report for an incident. We can get all the information we need from a single report.

What if their offence isn't available as an option?

If you are not sure which rule to choose, just choose which ever rule you think is the best fit. Don't worry if you click the wrong offence, our Player Support team will still know how to handle your report!

When should I submit the report?

As soon as the offence has occured. A report will only contain the in-game chat that took place at the time it is sent, so you shouldn't wait to discuss the matter with someone. If you wait then it may be too late! You can always talk to someone about the incident after you've sent the report.

Do you accept Screenshots as reports?

We are unable to accept Screenshots taken by players as evidence due the ease of manipulation. If you wish to report an offence always use the in-game function.

How will I know my report has been reviewed?

Although we do not send out confirmation messages or updates, rest assured that all successfully completed in-game reports are processed and reviewed within 24 hours of being submitted
