Jagex Launcher fresh install guide

Windows

1. Clean Uninstall

First, ensure that the Jagex launcher is not listed in your installed programs. If it is, attempt to uninstall it using the "Remove" option in the installer or via the Control Panel.

2. Manually Remove Residual Files

Check your primary drive (C:) and ensure the following folders are deleted if they're still there after uninstalling:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Jagex Launcher\
- C:\ProgramData\Jagex Launcher\
- C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Programs\Jagex Launcher\
- C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Jagex Launcher\
Look for any remaining Jagex or RuneScape folders and delete them.

3. Download a Fresh Installer

4. Install to a New Location

During the installation process, choose a new location for the Jagex launcher installation. This should prevent conflicts which may occur with the previous installation path.

5. Verify Installation

Once the installation is complete, launch the Jagex Launcher and confirm that it is functioning correctly.

Note: If you are experiencing an issue when following these steps, please try the following:

Right-click on the installer and choose 'Run as administrator' to see if this helps.
If you are using a VPN, please try disabling this.

Mac

1. Clean Uninstall

Open the Applications folder in Finder, locate the Jagex Launcher application and drag it to the Bin

2. Manually Remove Residual Files

Navigate to the following location and remove the folder:
- ~/Library/Application Support/Jagex Launcher/
Look for any remaining Jagex or RuneScape folders and delete them.

3. Download a Fresh Installer

4. Install to a New Location

5. Verify Installation

Once the installation is complete, launch the Jagex Launcher and confirm that it is functioning correctly.
