In this article, you’ll learn about the Jagex Launcher’s features and how to opt in or out of test features.
Choosing either Minimise to System Tray or Exit Completely
You can choose what happens to the Jagex Launcher when exiting - either 'Minimise to System Tray' or 'Exit completely'.
| Minimise to System Tray | The launcher will stay running in the background; even after you close it. |
| Exit completely | The launcher will stop running once closed. |
To update your preference:
- Head to the Jagex Launcher settings in the top right
- Click 'Startup and Shutdown'
- Click the box underneath the heading 'When closing the Jagex Launcher'
- Choose either 'Minimise to System Tray' or 'Exit completely'
Once saved, this setting is remembered for future sessions, to change it back please update in the settings again.
Note: 'Minimise to System Tray' is only available for Windows.
Opting in/out of test features
We often release potential features early for players to test. You can opt in/out of these test features any time - here's how:
- Head to the Jagex Launcher settings in the top right
- Click 'Test Features'
- Tick the checkbox next to 'Enable test features on this Launcher' to opt in
Note: These features are still in testing. If you are experiencing issues with the Jagex Launcher, please try disabling this and restarting the launcher.
