Safety Tips

RuneScape is enjoyed by players from all over the world, from different backgrounds and ages. We love that our community are there for each other and we know how awesome it is to have online friends!

Always remember to be careful what personal information you are sharing online as you can't be sure everyone is who they say they are.

What is personal information?
Personal information can include:

  • Real name
  • Email address
  • Home address
  • Phone number
  • Credit card information
  • Messenger handle

What are messenger handles?
This includes other RuneScape accounts names but refers mainly to third party social applications. For example but not limited to:

  • Skype
  • TeamSpeak
  • FaceBook
  • Twitter
  • SnapChat
  • Kik
  • Whatsapp

What should I do if I am asked for my details?
Asking for, or giving out personal information is against the Rules of RuneScape. If someone in-game asks you for personal information then you should tell them no or ignore their request.

If they are persistent or make you feel uncomfortable, then you should ignore and report the player.

What if they are asking someone else and not me?
If a player is bothering someone else, then you can report the player on their behalf.
