You can also visit the Ironman removal page should you have another type of Ironman account.
Group Ironman Mode allows you to bring a small party of friends along on your self-sufficient adventures. If you decide that you want to jump ship and start a new group or remove your Ironman status altogether, then follow these steps.
Old School
Leave your Group
Follow these steps if you wish to leave your current group:
- Go to Settings on the group sidepanel
- At the bottom left on the Settings menu, choose 'Leave Group'
- A confirmation box will appear
- If you are the Group Leader, you will be asked to choose a successor
- If all group members are inactive, you'll need to remove everyone from the group before disbanding
-
Confirm your choice by selecting 'Yes, leave the group'
- You'll enter a 7 day grace period in case you change your mind
- Using the interface again during this grace period, will display how long is left until you leave the Group
- Choose a new gamemode for your account
Kicked from a Group
If you have been removed from your Group, then you will have a grace period of 7 days for the Group to reverse its decision, or for you to prepare your account for the next steps. You'll be unable to remove items from the Group Storage during the grace period.
You can then choose a new gamemode for your account.
Gamemodes
There are 3 different gamemodes you can change your Group Ironman status to. Each of these gamemodes offer a different level of challenge and prestige so please make sure to read the wiki page to fully understand the impact each gamemode will have on your account. For example:
- Unranked Group Ironman
- You will lose Hardcore status, Prestige, and rank on the Group Ironman HiScores
- You will keep all progress made as well as all tradeable and untradeable items
- Ranked Group Ironman
- You will keep all progess made and your untradeable items, but tradeable items will be lost
- Regular Account
- Your Ironman status will be fully revoked
- You will keep all progress made as well as all tradeable and untradeable items
Select which gamemode to change to after leaving your group.
The ability to lock in an Ironman status permanently has been removed. New solo Ironman accounts will have a cool-down delay of 7 days if they ask the Ironman tutor in Lumbridge to downgrade them; once the account has established itself with a skill total of 1,000, it can choose a longer cool-down of 90 days. Players who had previously chosen the "permanent" option can now ask the Ironman tutor to downgrade them, provided they have upgraded to a Jagex Account; this will take effect after the 90-day cool-down.
