If a suspicious login is detected on your account, we'll send you an email notification encouraging you to secure your account. In cases when we're more confident that someone else has gained access, we'll temporarily lock the account to kick the bad actor off.
What are suspicious login email notifications?
- If we believe someone else may have accessed your account, you’ll receive an email.
- The email will include the country of the login attempt and clear steps to help you secure your account.
- Your account won’t be automatically locked, so you should take action quickly if something doesn’t look right.
If an account has been locked, it is the owner's responsibility to ensure that their account is secured.
If you receive this email and it wasn’t you
- If you haven't already, upgrade to a Jagex Account for stronger protection and enhanced security features.
- Change your password immediately. This will remove any unauthorised users from your account and active game sessions.
- Make sure your email address is secured with Two-Factor Authentication as the third party could have gained access via your email.
- Check your linked accounts and remove any you don’t recognise.
Receiving the emails
To make sure you receive these notifications:
- Keep your registered email address up to date.
